Note: Because we are a non-profit ministry operated by volunteers, we do not provide support for the following questions. Please do not contact us for any of the following issues as we are providing you the answers right here, and cannot provide any more support than what is here. So please read through this list before contacting us about any support question:
Question 1. I am unable to login to the Setting Captives Free website:
Answer: Please note that your password is case sensitive. While logging in make sure that you use the correct password. Assuming you have registered at the Setting Captives Free website, if you are still unable to login, please use the "Forgot Password" link. Enter your email address and we will send you a new password to your email address. If you do not receive the email in your inbox please check your "spam" or "junk" folder before writing to us for a new password. (Please make sure after registration you have already confirmed your email address to receive emails from us.)
Question 2. My accountability partner is not getting a copy of my submitted lessons:
Answer: Once you add someone as your accountability partner we send him/her an email containing a confirmation link. Once he/she confirms their email address we send a copy of your submitted lesson to him/her. Unless they confirm their email address we cannot send your lessons. This is done in order to reduce spam. If your accountability partner is not getting your submitted lessons please ask him or her to confirm their email address, making sure to look in their "spam" or "junk" folders (as some Internet providers mistakenly place some emails in these folders). If your accountability partner cannot find the email to confirm then you can contact us by using the form below.
Question 3. I do not see a "Save & Finish The Day" button at the end of my lesson:
Answer: If you do not see "Save & Finish The Day" button on the last section of a lesson, OR a "Save & Continue" button in any other section, please copy your answers to a doc file and then refresh the page. Allow the page to load completely. If the button is now visible you can paste the answers in to the answer box from the doc file. If you still do not see the button you can write to us.
Question 4. I have not received the email containing the confirmation link after I registered at the Setting Captives Free website:
Answer: Please make sure you have checked your "spam" folder, as this is usually the problem. Sometimes Internet providers mistakenly filter our emails into spam or junk folders.
Question 5. I am not able to submit a lesson:
Answer: For many of our courses there are accountability questions at the end of the last section of a lesson. These accountability questions require answers in order for the lessons to be submitted. Please make sure you have answered all the accountability questions before hitting the "Save & Finish The Day" button, otherwise you will be unable to submit your lessons.
Question 6. How do I access a course at the Setting Captives Free website?
Answer: Accessing a course is a 2-step process. First you need to register at our site. Once registered an email will be sent to you containing a confirmation link. Please click on the link to confirm. Then simply go to the course homepage you want to enroll using the menu system. Here you can click the "Enroll Today For Free" button and submit the enrollment form. Now you are enrolled in the course and may login to access it.
Question 7. I am unable to get to the correct lesson after login:
Answer: Please note that once you login the "Continue This Course" button will take you to the lesson and section that you are to take next. If you are still taken to the previous lesson/section you have submitted last, it may be because the lesson was not submitted properly. Simply continue from the place you were taken to. We are unable to reset or in any way advance your course lessons and so you will need to simply continue from the place where you are taken to when you login.
Question 8. How do I add or remove an accountability partner?
Answer: Please log into your account at www.settingcaptivesfree.com with your email address and password. Click on the Preferences button which is located on the right hand side of the web page, next to the red logout button. On the "Your Preferences" page, scroll down until you see the "Accountability Partners" section. Click on the "Edit" button for the course in which you would like to update your accountability partners. Add the email addresses and then click on the "Update Course" button. Your accountability partners are now added.
Question 9. I have not heard from my mentor.
Answer: It is possible that your lessons have been filtered out as spam, or that your mentor is simply unable to answer you. All of our mentors are volunteers and provide any ministry free of charge. Therefore, we urge you to involve someone from your family, local church or community to serve as local support and encouragement. You may add them on as an "accountability partner" following the instructions in number 8 above. We are praying that you will press on for the glory of God!"
Question 10. Can I have a new mentor? (I don't like mine, my mentor is too busy, my mentor is not responding)
Answer: No, we do not switch mentors. We have too many students to switch mentors around and we have a strict policy in effect of not allowing any switching as we do not have the support staff to handle requests like this. We also believe that God is sovereign over how students are placed with mentors.
